Greetings, Dsquares, this is $amroc back again with my weekly post of a crapload of tunes. Today’s post is a finely crafted blend of things I wanted to blog from my soundcloud feed and the stuff I thought people would like to have from our industry inbox…..I’m not even gonna write much about anything today and just drink coffee and speedblog… FUCK IT! LET’S DANCE!
First off we have a new souped up cover version of Alice Deejay’s “Better Off Alone” from Sex Cult Records’ (and Dsquared favorite) Black Matter and a collaborator named Monolith. Crisp sounding with the short intro to drop appreciated, it’s pretty self explanatory all in all….but since I’m blogging I’m gonna say this is a ‘bonafide knock out of the park with the bat broken and superballs flying every which way across the infield’. http://soundcloud.com/black-matter
Portland, Oregon’s Matt Rock posted this ‘electro/dubstep’ remix of Steve Aoki’s new single “Ladi Dadi” and I subsequently knocked my empty cereal bowl off the table trying to click download in case it suddenly disappeared. http://soundcloud.com/mattrock
Swedish Death Electro producer Owl Vision emailed us this nasty slab of aggressive electro with vicious synths and a payout beat that switches in and out of dubstep and breaks for just the right amount of dancefloor surprise and energy creation. FML indeed. http://soundcloud.com/owlvision
If you like moombahton or moombahcore or just wilding the fuck out with your rager ass and you don’t know about Pickster or Melo yet, you should probably get that checked out. Two of Arizonaton’s finest, this Too Short remix by them is labeled ‘MoomBayTon’. See what they did there? From next-level moombahton to beautiful moombahsoul to dangerous moombahcore, go get every single one of their tunes everywhere you can find them and astonish all your local moombahnerds with your impeccable taste in producers and track selection.
Ben Tactic of the production duo Tactic re-issued this older refix of his of Lidell Thompson’s Nu Nu after some recent interest in it, so I grabbed it and included it in this post to kinda broaden the variety of the material here today with a nice house track. I’ve also included here a nice free Blaqstarr remix from Secret Sauce, a new production team composed of Brent Tactic, B-Stee, and Archii.
Baltimore native/DC resident Jon Kwest is an absolutely amazing producer never limited to any one style. Bmore, Juke, Hip-Hop, and Moombahton are his specialties. He has been producing since 1998 and has been releasing track after track and compilation after compilation relentlessly for the last few years, sometimes even under critical fire from entire subgenres’ internet troll legions and cranky elders. He is a true industry workhorse who is usually only critically lauded by his fellow producers (that is until his highly-anticipated recently released EP, The Last Don, charted VERY high on Beatport…). This beautiful moombahsoul freebie from him, a remix of Betty Wright’s “Tonight Is The Night’, is his gift to both all the lovers of the world for Valentine’s Day and inevitably, all the goddamn hacks and haters too.
LET’S GET TO SOME BONUS TRACKS YOU CAN JUST HAS! THEN YOU CAN DO THE RESEARCH! IT’S FUN!
hope you all like the free tunes! smell you later. – $amroc
