Hey all, Wyatt here again with another batch of freshness for you. A few funky tunes and a few peak hour dance floor bombs make up this post. Enjoy!
Italian born Leg-No is a rising star in the house world, making bouncy beats with tight and interesting percussion lines. His music lies somewhere between DJ Sneak and Riva Starr. Here he has put his touch on the chart topping tune “Granulated Soul” by Oliver $. Adding some keys and turning up the bass makes this a perfect mix for the dancefloor.
Hyperbits is a New York city based production duo. After their remix of “Alive” by Dirty South got them over 5,000 listens on Soundcloud, people started to take note. The group consists of long time friends Robert Palliser and Serik Slobodskoy, two men passionate about music but with very different backgrounds. Robert came from a youth of enjoying EDM while Serik spent his early years as the front man of a pop punk band. Together they make music that flawlessly combines interesting melodies and hard as nails drops. Here they remix the classic tune Clocks by Coldplay.
Another funky house tune, this time brought to us by DJ Alex Ryan of Syracuse, NY. This tune sounds like a lost classic from the golden years of funky house (98-01 IMO). With a funky bass line, a snare thats more of a clap and great sample work, this is a really strong tune. Soulful enough for a traditional house set, but recognizable enough to play in a mainstream club set, this song belongs in every house jock’s crates.
ImanoS is a rising star in the world of big room sounds. Having already headlined clubs like Pacha London and Spektrum in Denmark, this 23 year old Vancouver native is a name to watch. Here we have a mashup of Hardwell’s “Cobra” and the Michael Woods edit of “How R U Feeling.” With support from Tiesto and Tony Senghore, this is already a dancefloor bomb.
Pittsburgh native Comic Strips comes at us with full on rager “Tear It Up.” From the first kick to the last guitar drone this song hauls ass. Gritty and intense, this one is perfect for the new crossover generation.
DJ Theron is a veteran DJ based out of San Diego, CA. After years of setting trends in that area he has moved into production. Here he presents us with his mix of Eric B and Rakim‘s classic song “Paid in Full.” With a nice punchy beat and enough of the original vocal to really grab the audience’s attention, this is a really tight update to a true classic.
