Thanksgiving is coming up and there are SO many things to give thanks for! Friends, family…the insane amount of food I get to cook and consume in two days…followed by a nap…then more food…and a midnight snack…

There’s also something else to be thankful for – DSQUARED VOL. 3 IS UP FOR DOWNLOAD. That’s right, the mix series that highlights the best of the best here on the blog was made available this morning on Soundcloud. It shows you exactly what this site is all about so make sure you download it – share it – play it in your car – have sex to it – get ready to party with it – practice quantum physics to it – blast it. Get it below or view it on Soundcloud to get the tracklist.

And on to the singles! Let’s start with some banging moombahcore…ah, straight to my heart. Schlachthofbronx and Gnucci Banana are giving away this Valentino Khan remix of “Coolie Fruit” and it’s one of those instances where I like the remix more than the original. Oops. While the original just seems to fall flat for me, this remix adds flavor, punch and a desire to drop it like it’s hot.

One more moombah tune for you – LAZRtag‘s boot of Tommy Trash’s “Future Folk.” I’m wary of moombah remixes of electro tunes just because it’s so easy to make the melodic lines sound just plain lackluster. Who knew that this Tommy Tune track would be so suited for this though? The ease that it melds with the moombah tempo and format makes this a win from the start. Of course, LAZRtag’s spot-on production doesn’t hurt ;-)

If you’re biased, forget that Black Cards has Pete Wentz in it, and forget that this is a Rihanna remix. Focus on that sweet Calvin Harris backbone, and you know what…screw it, it’s an awesome take on the tune. Black Cards has been on fire lately with their productions that hint at complextro while not letting it get too wonky and this is no exception, so get your dirty on.

Dirtie Clouds sent over two remixes, one of Swedish House Mafia and Knife Party’s “Antidote” and another of Tonite Only’s “We Run The Nite”. Yes, his vocal edit of “Antidote” is uh-mazing, but “We Run The Nite” has been one of my favorite songs since it was released, so naturally it’s my favorite of the two. While he keeps hints of the xylophone-type notes in as well as epic chord strikes, there’s additions of grimy electro hallmarks that compliment nicely.

We also have two mixes from site regular HLM. First is his touch on Lights’ “Siberia” – a song that sounds like a pop anthem for hipster tweenagers. Good thing HLM’s around to bang the EFF out of this remix – the drop right around 2:00 sends tingles up my spine. He’s also sent over his submission for the Dirty South & Thomas Gold “Alive” remix contest and it’s just as amazing, pretty yet with a tough streak. Oh, did I mention the mini dubstep breakdown?

YES I LIKE “CALLING” and Alesso is a really nice guy to boot (if you didn’t read my interview wtih him check it out here). Landis has remixed the young Swede’s tune and it’s wonderfully done. The melodic hook appears on the breaks and hints through sporadically, but mostly it’s chock full of thick drums and sliding synths that make this, officially, my favorite remix of the song to date.

Alesso & Sebastian Ingrosso – Calling (Landis Remix)

Bonus ish:

Crookers – Hummus (Barletta & Paul David Remix)
