Hey kiddos! B.Magick here coming at you from sunny Los Angeles, CA and want to send a big HELLO to all the blog readers and EDM pioneers reading this. I’m very excited to be writing for Dani Deahl and good things are sure to come!

Enough of the pleasantries, let’s get down to what we’re all here for. First track out of the gates, gotta make it a good one right?

I have to support my fellow SoCal resident DJ HLM on this re-work of the classic Swedish House Mafia and Laidback Luke track “Leave the World Behind” The original is instantly recognizable, and HLM does a great job at capturing all the essence of the original with his own spin on it and brings in a nice fat synth to round it out.

In my continued support of artists in places I live (SoCal) or where I’m from (Toronto!) this track does my heart good. Montreal born and Toronto based producers No Big Deal throw down some big electro sounds on the classic 1980 Eric Clapton song “Cocaine”. If there’s one quick way to my heart, it’s bringing a crazy sound to a classic song, and this one succeeds in every way.

Madonna! Controversy! You already know what song I’m talking about, and if you don’t then I hope that rock is comfortable you’re living under. Cedric Gervais’ song “Molly” was legendary before anyone heard it, and Ryan Enzed brings a darker a deeper feeling to the track with a big bass synth pouring out of your speakers. And he’s from New Zealand (see I’m not totally biased to places I’ve been).

Finally, Las Vegas duo Ikon & Exodus round things out with something a little more mainstream but effective in a variety of sets with a remix of Rihanna’s “You Da One”. It brings a little more EDM in to the song and has a nice breakdown to keep things sexy.

Well that’s it! My first post. And my first post wouldn’t be complete without …

BAM! SoCal based and Windsor, ON raised DJ/Producer DJ B.Magick comes out with a bootleg of Gotye’s “Somebody You Used To Know” and the Hard Rock Sofa track “Blow Up” remixed by Axwell & Thomas Gold. Enjoy it.
